Newcomb College, Class of 1974 alumna, Carol Lavin-Bernick serves as CEO of Polished Nickel Capital Management and as Chairman of the Board of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. She has previously been Executive Chairman of the Board of the Allberto Culver Company. Bernick regularly speaks to business and student groups on issues including corporate culture, business strategy, corporate boards, product development, and family business. She is active in a broad spectrum of charitable and service groups including serving as vice chairman of the board of Tulane University, Women's Voard of the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Chicago, the Executive committee of the Global Advisory Board for Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management and the Women's Leadership Board of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. She is the gounder of Friends of Prentice and is a member of the Committee of 200, the Chicago Network, the World President' Organization, and the Commercial Club of Chicago. She has been recognized by multiple organizations for for her business success and philanthropic efforts.
