Ann Patchett was the 15th Zale-Kimmerling Writer-In-Residence in 1999. Ann Patchett is an American novelist and memoirist. She is author of 'Bel Canto', 'The Patron Saint of Liars', and 'The Magician's Assistant' among others. She is the recipient of the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction. This is a recording of Ann Patchett's visit to Professor Dale Edmonds' creative writing class at Tulane. Students ask questions and Ann responds, covering graduate school, application advice, responding to criticism, writing, letters of recommendations, and ways to improve one's writing.
