Ann Patchett was the 15th Zale-Kimmerling Writer-In-Residence in 1999. Ann Patchett is an American novelist and memoirist. She is author of 'Bel Canto', 'The Patron Saint of Liars', and 'The Magician's Assistant' among others. She is the recipient of the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction. This recording is an incomplete compilation of Patchett's Zale-Kimmerling Lecture 'An Evening with Ann Patchett' during which she reads from her work in progress 'Bel Canto'. The reading is followed by the recording of Patchett's visit to Professor Dale Edmond's Creative Writing Class and the Meet the Author Night, during which Patchett is interviewed by Molly Travis.
