Laura Elizabeth Saunders Landry graduated from Newcomb High School in 1913 and from Newcomb College in 1917 with a B.A. in English Literature. While at Newcomb, Laura was involved in Pi Beta Phi, Newcomb Athletic Association, the Debating Association, Newcomb Debating Council, the Peace Polity Club, and the Dramatic Club. After Newcomb, Laura taught in a rural school and later worked in an office directing ships. She was involved in the founding of Metairie Country Day School. In this interview with Susan C. Thompson, Laura discusses her time at Newcomb, the old Newcomb campus on Washington Avenue, and her life since Newcomb.
