A black and white photograph of Jean Mountaingrove standing in the front room of her cabin at Rootworks. Rootworks was a women's land that had at least three cabins that were lived in by several lesbians over the years. Jean Mountaingrove's cabin was located across from the barn, "Natalie Barney." The front room was a kind of lean-to structure built onto the cabin that acted like a greenhouse, outhouse, and toolshed. The cabin also consisted of a kitchen, sitting area, and upstairs bedroom. Located in Southern Oregon (near Sunny Valley), Rootworks was originally started by Jean and Ruth Mountaingrove, however, by the time of this photo, in the 1980s, Ruth and Jean had already parted ways. This photograph was taken on one of Shewolf's trips out West to survey women's lands.
